Areal Flood Warning: Parts of Blount, Shelby, & Jefferson Counties Until 12:45 AM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
Blount County in central Alabama…
Central Shelby County in central Alabama…
Jefferson County in central Alabama…

* Until 945 AM CST.

* At 651 AM CST, flooding has been confirmed by local emergency
management in the warned area, and will continue as light to
moderate rainfall continues for several more hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Birmingham, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Alabaster, Bessemer, Homewood,
Pelham, Mountain Brook, Trussville, Helena, Hueytown, Gardendale,
Irondale, Leeds, Moody, Fairfield, Chelsea, Fultondale, Oneonta and
Blountsville.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches are possible in the
warned area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
