Areal Flood Warning: Parts of Madison County Until 5:45 PM

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for…
Southwestern Madison County in north-central Alabama…

* Until 545 PM CST.

* At 1153 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
that heavy rain was falling over the area. The heavy rain will
cause flooding. Up to two inches with locally higher amounts of
rain have already fallen. An additional one inch of rainfall is
possible through 6 PM allowing for further rises on the Indian
Creek.

Areas impacted by Indian Creek can expect the creek level to rise
above flood stage and cause flooding along Creek Park Playground and
a good portion of the Indian Creek Greenway.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately
