EXPIRED – Areal Flood Advisory For Macon County Until 4:30 PM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Flood Advisory for Minor Flooding in Poor Drainage Areas for…
Macon County in southeastern Alabama…

* Until 430 PM CST.

* At 123 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated light to moderate rain
continued to move across the area and was falling on areas that
have received between one and two inches of rainfall during the
past 24 hours. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in
localized minor flooding in the advisory area…especially in low-
lying flood prone areas near small creeks…streams and ditches.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Tuskegee, Notasulga, Milstead, Shorter, Franklin, Liverpool,
Liberty City, Lake Tuskegee, Hardaway, Tuskegee National Forest,
Tysonville, Victoryland, Davisville, Society Hill, Warriorstand, I
85 Rest Area, Uphapee Creek, Fort Davis, Cross Keys and Creek
Stand.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
