Strong Storms Affecting Southern Jefferson County; Winds to 40 mph Possible

Intersecting outflow boundaries have produced a strong thunderstorm over southern parts of the Birmingham Metro.

Strong winds gusting to 40 mph are possible along with intense lightning and very heavy rain.

Some communities being affected include:

Fairfield
Midfield
Bluff Park
Hoover
Vestavia
Homewood

It will eventually build toward:

Brighton
Bessener
Dolomite
