Storms Moving Through Birmingham Area; Others Over Parts of Central Alabama
Storms are moving through the Birmingham area at this time. A severe thunderstorm warning continues for areas in Jefferson County north and east of downtown into Blount County.
Lots of lightning, heavy rain and the possibility of damaging winds.
Trees were reported down on Walkers Chapel Road in Fultondale at 3:25 p.m.
In Blount County, there are reports of trees down in Blountsville and Hayden in Blount County.
A new severe thunderstorm warning was just issued for St. Clair County as well.
More storms are over West Alabama over Marion County. They are part of a larger corridor of storms that stretches back to Memphis. These storms will be pushing east southeast into Alabama for the next few hours.
Shelby County has strong storms. New severe thunderstorm warning for Shelby.
In East Alabama, storms are over Calhoun and Clay Counties. Severe thunderstorm warning just issued for Etowah County.
Storms continue to push to the east southeast.
Monitoring the storm complex to the north which is over northwestern Tennessee. These storms will push southeastward into Alabama tonight.
A threat of severe weather continues through the afternoon and tonight.
A severe thunderstorm watch continues until 9 p.m. for much of North Central and Central Alabama.
