Whew Buddy… It’s A Hot One Out There Already Before Midday

| May 24, 2019 @ 10:26 am

We have plenty of sunshine across Central Alabama as we are approaching the late morning hours on this Friday. There are just a few clouds that are bringing some shade to the south-central parts of the area, but it’s not much. Temperatures are already up in the mid-80s to the lower 90s across the area. Birmingham was at 86 degrees while the hot spot was Uniontown at 91 degrees. The cool spot was Haleyville at 84 degrees.

We’ll continue to have mostly sunny skies across Central Alabama for the afternoon and into the early evening hours. The heat will be on as afternoon highs will be up in the lower to mid-90s in the northern half and mid to upper 90s in the southern half. There may be a very, very small chance of an isolated shower or two across the northwestern parts of the area, but chances are just a little over 10%. Skies will be mainly clear across the area tonight with overnight lows in the upper 60s to the lower 70s.

Very close to the same story for Saturday… Hot to very hot temperatures across the area with tons of sun and maybe a few passing small clouds. Highs will be very similar to today as well, ranging from 92-97 degrees across the area. It will be mainly clear on Saturday night with overnight lows hitting the mid-60s to the lower 70s.
