A Nearly Perfect Christmas Eve Midday Across Central Alabama

| December 24, 2018 @ 12:30 pm

As of 12:20 PM on Christmas Eve, it is a really nice but a little cool midday across Central Alabama. Skies are clear and full of sunshine throughout all of the area and that is helping the cooler temperatures feel not so bad. Temperatures are currently in the mid-40s to the mid-50s across the area from north to south. Troy and Eufaula are the warm spots at 55 degrees while Haleyville, Gadsden, and Pell City are the cool spots at 46 degrees. Birmingham was at 48 degrees.

Skies will remain sunny for the remainder of the afternoon and into the early evening hours, but a couple of clouds may float across the sky. Afternoon highs will be in the upper 40s to the upper 50s. Clouds will start to build in over the southern parts of the area, but the rest of Central Alabama will remain mainly clear. Lows will dip down into the upper 20s to the mid-30s.

Christmas Day will feature a mix of sun and clouds throughout the day over the northwestern parts of the area, with mostly sunny skies in the southeast. There may be enough moisture available to squeeze out a few raindrops over the extreme northwestern parts of Central Alabama but the chance of rain is only around 20% for those areas. Afternoon highs will be in the lower 50s to the mid-60s. More clouds will continue to move in from the west during the evening and overnight hours, but we’ll stay dry, so no weather problems for those who go out for dinner or to the movies on Christmas. Lows will be down in the lower to mid-40s.

I hope the best for you and your family and friends during this Christmas holiday. Merry Christmas and have a great day!
