Patchy dense freezing fog has developed across portions of north
central and northwest Alabama, along with portions of southern middle
Tennessee. The fog was most prevalent along the Tennessee River and
over other bodies of water. Visibility of 1/4 mile or less may occur
in a few of these areas. The freezing fog could result in a light
deposit of ice on bridges and other elevated surfaces, resulting in a
few slick spots this morning.

Motorists are urged to drive with extreme caution, as visibility
will vary significantly given the patchy nature of the fog. Use low
beams, reduce driving speed, and allow for plenty of room between you
and other cars.

The fog should begin to dissipate by 9 AM.
