Heavy Rain & Plenty Of Lightning Approaching The Birmingham Metro

| November 7, 2018 @ 11:37 am

At 11:30 am, the line of showers and thunderstorms continues to push eastward at around 30 MPH and is now reaching such places as Oneonta, Birmingham, Hoover, Montevallo, and Selma. As of now, there are no severe weather warnings or significant weather alerts, but parts of this line contain heavy rain and dangerous lightning.

As I am typing this, a Significant Weather Advisory was just issued for parts of Bibb, Chilton, and Shelby counties until 12:15 pm.

If you are in the path of this line of storms and it is approaching your location, go ahead and get indoors until it passes. If you can hear thunder, you are in danger of being struck by lightning.

Temperatures out ahead of the line are in the mid-60s to the lower 70s, but behind the line, they are in the lower to mid-50s.
