…SIGNIFICANT WEATHER ADVISORY FOR CENTRAL WALKER COUNTY UNTIL 815
AM CDT…
At 715 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7
miles northwest of Oakman, or 8 miles south of Carbon Hill, moving
southeast at 15 mph.
Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm. Heavy
rainfall is also associated with this storm, with a few areas
possibly seeing one inch or more within a very brief time.
Locations impacted include…
Sumiton, Cordova, Dora, Parrish, Oakman, Gorgas Steam Plant,
Burnwell, Beloit, Gorgas, Goodsprings, Barney, West Corona, The Wye,
Tutwiler, Corona and Townley.
