Daily Climate Report for June 14th, 2018: Dry With A Near Normal High
Close to normal temperature for Thursday in the Magic City, as the high temperature of 89 degrees was only 1 degree warmer than the normal high of 88 degrees. There was a larger difference in the early morning low as the actual temperature bottomed out at 72 degrees, 4 degrees warmer than the normal low temperature of 68 degrees. The monthly average temperature departure stays unchanged at 2 degrees above normal.
The Birmingham International Airport did not receive any rainfall yesterday, so the totals for month-to-date and year-to-date remain the same. The month-to-date total of 2.25 inches is now only 0.26 inches above normal, while the year-to-date total of 31.10 inches is 5.14 inches above normal.
Today will be a hot and steamy day in the Birmingham Metropolitan Area with the high topping out in the lower 90s, around 91 degrees. With the dewpoint levels in the lower 70s, the heat index will make it up into the upper 90s today. Stay cool and hydrated.
