Line of Storms Will Reach Birmingham Metro Between 7:45-8:45 p.m.

We have a line of storms pushing through West Alabama at this time. They have knocked down some trees across Hale County.

A severe thunderstorm warning was just issued for Hale County.

Gallion Fire reports that trees are down near Akron and Stewart/Havannah out on Co Rd 42 (tree and power line) and Greensboro FD on Co Rd 21 multiple trees.

The line extends from southern Lawrence County, south of Moulton, to near Tuscaloosa to Demopolis in Marengo County.

It is pushing east at 20 mph. It will push across Winston, Walker, Tuscaloosa, Hale, Bibb, Marengo and Perry Counties, into Cullman, Jefferson, Shelby, Chilton and Autauga Counties in over the next two hours.

Some of the heaviest activity right now is over Hale County. it will impact Perry and Bibb Counties over the next hour.

It will reach downtown Birmingham between 8:15 and 8:30, affecting western sections of the Metro starting around 7:45 p.m.

The storms have gusty winds, lots of lightning and heavy rain. They will dump about an inch of rain as they pass through.

Winds gusted to 34 mph at the Tuscaloosa Airport as the line passed.

Be in a substantial structure as this line of storms approaches your location.
