The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
Blount County in central Alabama…
Northern Calhoun County in east central Alabama…
Etowah County in northeastern Alabama…
Northern St. Clair County in central Alabama…

* Until 330 AM CDT Tuesday

* At 923 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Gadsden, Jacksonville, Rainbow City, Oneonta, Attalla, Piedmont,
Hokes Bluff, Springville, Blountsville, Cleveland, Glencoe,
Ashville, Sardis City, Ragland, Locust Fork, Ohatchee, Steele,
Altoona, Snead and Susan Moore.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
