Areal Flood Warning Canceled For Parts Of Madison County
…THE FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR SOUTHWESTERN MADISON COUNTY… Indian Creek at Madison is currently at 7.21 feet, and continues to fall. Since Flood Stage is 7.5 feet, the Creek crested earlier today and has fallen below Flood Stage. Thus, the warning specifically for the Indian Creek Basin will be expired. A larger Areal Flood Warning remains in place for all of Madison County, however, and this will be extended through at least this evening to account for any lingering flooding outside of the Indian Creek Basin. * At 1001 AM CST, Indian Creek at Madison was falling, having crested earlier this morning at 8.8 feet. Minor flooding will continue for the next few hours as floodwaters recede in
Southwestern Madison County. Areas from Providence along Highway 72 southward along the Indian Creek Greenway, and further south to
Interstate 565 will see lingering flooding issues through midday.
The creek should fall below Action Stage of 6 feet around midnight tonight.
