Areal Flood Warning Canceled For Parts Of Madison County
…THE FLOOD WARNING HAS BEEN CANCELLED FOR SOUTHWESTERN MADISON COUNTY… Flood waters along Indian Creek in Madison have continued to fall since the creek crested earlier this morning at 8.75 feet. Flood Stage is 7.5 feet, and as of 1 PM CST, the creek has officially fallen below that threshold at 7.41 feet. Therefore, the Flood Warning was expired. Throughout the rest of the afternoon and into this evening, flood waters will continue to recede from Monrovia southward to Providence/Highway 72. The Indian Creek Greenway should see these waters recede by midnight tonight, as the gage is located on the bridge on Highway 20 beside Interstate 565. Until this time, please heed any road closures or barricades. The creek is expected to fall to normal readings of 4 to 5 feet by sunset Monday evening. * At 709 AM CST, the river gauge in Madison indicate that Indian
Creek remains above flood stage. At 615 AM CST, the stage was 8.6 feet and cresting. Levels along the creek will fall this morning and should fall below flood stage by midday.
