A 9:00AM Check On Our Weather Situation

| December 27, 2017 @ 9:03 am

As we have reached the 9 o’clock hour in Central Alabama, nearly every bit of rain has moved out of the area and into Georgia with the exception of the southeastern part of the area where a few light showers and sprinkles are falling. The good news is that we have now made it through the coolest parts of the morning without any icing issues in the northern parts of the area.

Cullman and Haleyville are still the two locations that are below freezing at this point, both at 28 degrees, while the rest of Central Alabama is ranging from 34 degrees in Jasper to 46 degrees in Eufaula. Birmingham is at 36 degrees at this point.

All of Central Alabama will be dry for the remainder of the day with the exception of those lingering showers in the southeastern parts of the area. Once they move out, they will be dry as well. Highs today will still be very chilly, with the upper 30s to the mid-40s expected across the area from north to south. Skies for the northern half of the area will clear out some, becoming mostly clear by noon. The southern half of the area will stay in cloud cover throughout the remainder of the day.
