Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Parts of Autauga, Marengo, Perry, Greene, Hale, Dallas, & Sumter Until 12:15AM

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for…
West central Autauga County in Alabama…
Marengo County in southwestern Alabama…
Perry County in Alabama…
Greene County in west central Alabama…
Hale County in west central Alabama…
Dallas County in south central Alabama…
Sumter County in west central Alabama…

* Until 1215 AM CDT

* At 1014 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain of 1 to 3
inches across the area. This rain on already saturated ground will
cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area.
Although the heavy rain has ended, some light rain will continue
and so will the runoff from earlier rain.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Selma, Demopolis, Valley Grande, Marion, Livingston, Eutaw, York,
Greensboro, Linden, Uniontown, Cuba, Selmont-West Selmont,
Jefferson, Forkland, Thomaston, Akron, Boligee, Sweet Water,
Gainesville and Orrville.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.
