After Midnight, The Rain Is Still Moving Its Way On Through

| May 13, 2017 @ 12:31 am

Sorry for the awful post title, but it is after midnight, and I am in the need for some sleep. The good news is that the severe threat has been over for a good while now. The bad news is that this MCV is a very slow mover and it is raining continuously over the same areas for a decent amount of time. Some locations in the western half of the area could still pick up to an inch or more of rain before this system winds down.

Looking at the latest HRRR model guidance for throughout the overnight and into the morning hours of Saturday, this complex of showers and storms will run out of gas before sunrise and will dissipate almost completely by 7AM over in the eastern part of the state. There may be a slight chance of a few showers could redevelop during the late morning to early afternoon hours over the southern parts of Central Alabama, but rain for the most part will be over for areas north of Tuscaloosa to Calera to Sylacauga by 7AM.
