Heads Up Coosa, Clay and Tallapoosa Counties

| April 5, 2017 @ 3:57 pm

A strong thunderstorm has developed over central Coosa County near Rockford. It will move northeast, passing near Goodwater, then getting into Clay and Tallapoosa Counties.

It should stay north of Alex City and will move toward Ashland.

This storm is moving into an area that is more favorable for severe weather, including tornadoes, much like the storm that is in Talladega County. Large hail will be a major threat. Lots of lightning and strong gusty winds as well.

Take this storm seriously as it approaches your area. Warnings could be required.

We will be monitoring it closely.
