South Alabama Storms Are Getting Active

A Tornado warning has been issued for Washington County until 1:30 PM CST. At 12:51 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 8 miles east of Deer Park, or 11 miles north of Citronelle, moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Tornado.

SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely.

This dangerous storm will be near McIntosh around 1:05 PM CST.

The National Weather Service in Mobile has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwestern Conecuh, Monroe, and Clarke Counties until 1:15 PM CST.

At 1226 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Fulton to 12 miles west of Frisco City to 8 miles southeast of Jackson, moving east at 40 mph.

HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include Monroeville, Frisco City, Peterman, Excel, Beatrice and Repton.
