A Beautiful November Sunday Across Central Alabama !
A beautiful November Sunday is in progress across Central Alabama this afternoon. Skies are quite variable with some pretty thick cirrostratus moving across the area, indicating moisture high in the atmosphere. Over Northwest Alabama, some lower level moisture is leading to some scattered low level clouds in that area.
Temperatures are in the lower 70s across the area. Expect about another 4-5 degrees in temperature rise this afternoon before daily highs are recorded. You will hear numbers like 76, 77 and 78F for the highs today. We will be back in the lower 50s in the I-20 Corridor tonight, with 40s the further north you go.
Tomorrow will be the warmest of the coming days, with highs in the middle and upper 70s again. After that, the mercury will start to slowly back off. Don’t get me wrong, temperatures will be above normal through the end of the week. There is some disagreement in the models as to whether we will see any showers Tuesday night and Wednesday and Thursday as well.
Don’t get your hopes up, rainfall amounts would be one tenth of an inch or less in any case. Most likely, we will see nothing at all. This means that our rainless streak at Birmingham that sits at 48 days now will easily surpass the all time streak of 52 days. Our next major rain system may not come until the 20th!
