REST OF TODAY & TONIGHT: Light to moderate showers are currently in the northwestern corner of Mississippi with a few scattered sprinkles and light showers showing up in central Mississippi. As they move closer to the state, they will be encountering drier air and could dry up before reaching Alabama. The latest run of the HRRR model is suggesting we could have a few sprinkles or light rain move across the northern third of Alabama tonight. Afternoon highs should reach near 80 to the lower 80s, with overnight lows should mostly be in the 50s.

TOMORROW: The day will have a mix of sun and clouds and temperatures will be warm once again. There will only be a slight risk of an afternoon shower over the northern-third of the state. Highs will once again be close to the 80s.

HONDA INDY GRAND PRIX OF ALABAMA: For those headed out to Barber Motorsports Park for this weekend’s hot racing action, the weather will be nice on Saturday and Sunday, but there is some rain expected for the first half of the day on Friday. Good news is that skies will gradually clear during the afternoon hours, and will be sunny for the weekend. Highs in the 70s on Friday and Saturday, with lower 80s expected for Sunday.
