RADAR CHECK: Rain continues to fall over a decent part of Alabama this afternoon… otherwise the sky is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 60s over the northern half of the state; South Alabama communities are seeing low to mid 70s.

The SPC has increased the risk of severe weather for portions of Alabama to a “slight risk” (level 2/5) of severe thunderstorms this afternoon for Central and South Alabama.

Storms will be active today across much of the state, with sever weather possible across the southern half of the area.
RADAR CHECK: Showers are mainly over the southern half of Alabama early this morning, but we will mention periods of rain statewide today ahead of a cold front. Some thunder is possible, and SPC maintains a low end “marginal risk” of severe thunderstorms for South Alabama later today and early tonight.
