At 3:04 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over southeastern Huntsville, moving northeast at 40 mph. The storm brings a hazard of a tornado and quarter-size hail, with radar indicating rotation.
At 2:48 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was identified near Bridgeport, moving east at 30 mph. The storm brings a hazard of a tornado and golf ball-sized hail, with radar indicating rotation.
At 2:40 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was identified 10 miles west of Moulton, moving east at 45 mph. The storm brings a hazard of 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, as indicated by radar.
New weather watch issuance may be required as the convection expands southeastward into northern Mississippi and Alabama. This threat should remain limited to central portions of Alabama and into Georgia.
At 2:27 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Skyline, about 12 miles north of Scottsboro, moving east at 30 mph. This storm presents a significant hazard, including the potential for a tornado and quarter-size hail.
At 2:25 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was identified near Huntland, approximately 13 miles northeast of Moores Mill, moving east at 40 mph. The storm is anticipated to bring hazards such as 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-size hail, as indicated by radar data.
At 2:07 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was detected near Courtland, approximately 10 miles north of Moulton, moving east at 55 mph.
Strong to severe storms have developed out in front of the main squall line that is moving through South Tennessee at the moment.
At 1:48 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were detected along a line extending from near Savannah to 6 miles north of Hinkle to near Snow Lake Shores, moving southeast at 40 mph.
At 1:50 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was detected near Moores Mill, moving east at 45 mph. Radar has indicated rotation within this storm, signaling the potential for a tornado.
As of 1:30 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Russellville, moving east at 50 mph.
As of 1:28 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Athens, moving east at 40 mph.
A tornado watch has been issued for all of North Alabama, and portions of Central Alabama until 8 am this morning.
