The line of storms pushing east southeastward across Northwest Alabama has become stronger and more organized. Storms are capable of damaging winds, spin up tornadoes, and hail.
The line of storms in northeastern Mississippi is becoming better organized early this morning. The storms from New Albany to near Houston have become more north-south oriented, which is an indication of better organization and intensity. Rain and storms will drop southeastward through the state during the morning hours. Some of them could be severe with damaging winds and hail. But the severe chances appear to be low.
One last strong storm is moving through the Tennessee Valley early this morning. We will enjoy a 2-3 hour break between 2-4 a.m. before more storms in western Tennessee and northern Mississippi drops into Northwest Alabama. A few of those storms could become severe with the main threats damaging winds and some hail through the day Friday as the storms drop southward across the state.
