Latest look at radar shows that nearly every shower out there has dissipated, with only a couple of isolated showers hanging on in extreme eastern Russell County and over the northeastern part of Elmore County and into the western part of Tallapoosa County.
Isolated severe thunderstorms capable of large hail and damaging gusts are possible for the next few hours.
At 440 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 7 miles southwest of Benevola, or 8 miles southeast of Aliceville, moving east at 30 mph.

RADAR CHECK: We have a few scattered showers across East and South Alabama at mid-afternoon, but much of the state is dry. A warm front is moving slowly northward; we have a big temperature contrast on either side of the front. Mobile is up to 84 degrees at 2:00p CT, while Huntsville is at 61 on the north side of the front.

At 830 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Troy University, or over Troy, moving east at 35 mph.
RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain is moving through Alabama early this morning. Stronger thunderstorms are across South Alabama, where a severe thunderstorm warnings have been needed for some of the counties counties due to the potential for large hail. We expect a dry period later this morning, but more storms will form during the afternoon and evening hours, and those could be strong to severe.
