RADAR CHECK: Most of Alabama is enjoying a delightful, sunny afternoon with temperatures in the 70s and low 80s. But, clouds linger over South Alabama with strong storms across the southeast corner of the state. Showers and storms remain possible tonight over the southern counties… elsewhere the sky will be fair with a low in the 40s as cooler air drops into the state.
The persistent area of rain continues to shift south today, and the main area for rain and storms is across South Alabama this afternoon and tonight.
RADAR CHECK: A persistent band of rain and storms is across Central Alabama this morning. Flash flood warnings are in effect for parts of Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Clay, Randolph, and Chambers counties where radar suggests some places have seen over 7 inches of rain over the past 36 hours. A flash flood watch remains in effect for the central counties of the state as well.
The severe threat has decreased over the past couple of hours or so, and a new watch to replace the Tornado Watch at 1 am is not expected.
