At 1145 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
At 1059 PM CDT, Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Reports of the 400 to 700 block of Targum road west of Hartselle is experiencing confirmed heavy flooding over the roadway. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen.
A new Tornado Watch has been issued until 6 am Wednesday morning for the following counties in Central Alabama: Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Clay, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Talladega, Tallapoosa counties, and includes Autauga, Chilton, Dallas, Lowndes, and Perry counties from the previous watch.
At 1029 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Marble Valley, or 8 miles west of Weogufka, moving northeast at 55 mph.
The severe threat across the Tornado Watch continues. A damaging gust or a tornado remains possible over the next few hours. A downstream Tornado Watch will be needed by 11 pm.

NWS Birmingham continues the Tornado Watch until 11 pm for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Jefferson, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Shelby, and St. Clair counties in Central Alabama. Hale and Tuscaloosa counties have been canceled from the watch as the severe weather threat has ended for tonight.

Rainfall amounts of 2 to locally 3 inches have already fallen across portions of the warned area. Additional heavy rainfall this evening will produce flash flooding, especially in metro Birmingham.
At 927 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over American Village, or over Montevallo, moving northeast at 35 mph.
AT 913 PM CDT, A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR TANNEHILL IRONWORKS STATE PARK, OR 9 MILES SOUTHWEST OF HELENA, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.
At 852 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to slow moving showers and thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
NWS Birmingham continues a Tornado Watch for Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Dallas, Hale, Jefferson, Lowndes, Marengo, Perry, Shelby, St. Clair, and Tuscaloosa counties in Central Alabama until 11 pm tonight. Greene, Sumter, and Walker counties have been canceled from the watch as the severe weather threat has ended for those locations.
