The Tornado Watches were allowed to expire, and the main severe threat has ended for the night. Some gusty winds and maybe an isolated severe storm will be possible along and ahead of the line of storms for a few more hours until the line pushes out of the state.

A line of strong to severe storms that is putting down copious amounts of rain is currently stretching from northeast of Anniston back to the southwest through Selma and back into the extreme southwestern parts of the state and into the extreme southeastern parts of Mississippi.
At 810 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
At 803 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
At 758 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
At 750 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Piedmont to near Fort McClellan, moving east at 55 mph.
At 734 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
At 732 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Shelby County Airport, or near Calera, moving east at 50 mph.
At 728 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
At 721 PM CST, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring.
NWS Birmingham cancels the Tornado Watch for Tuscaloosa County in Central Alabama, but continues the watch until 8 pm for Greene, Hale, and Sumter counties in Central Alabama.
