NWS Birmingham has extended the FLOOD WATCH until 9 am Friday for Autauga, Bibb, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Perry, Randolph, Shelby, Talladega, and Tallapoosa counties in Central Alabama, and has expanded the watch to now include Bullock and Russell counties.
AT 959 PM CST, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING HEAVY RAIN ACROSS THE WARNED AREA. BETWEEN 2 AND 4 INCHES OF RAIN HAVE FALLEN. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 3 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN THE WARNED AREA. FLASH FLOODING IS ONGOING OR EXPECTED TO BEGIN SHORTLY.
As of 8:43 pm, the line of storms have pushed into the extreme southeastern parts of Central Alabama moving through portions of Russell, Bullock, and Montgomery counties, and will soon push into Pike and Barbour counties.
The SPC just released their latest update to the Day One Severe Weather Outlook, and only the southeastern parts of Central Alabama remain in a Marginal Risk for severe storms through the rest of tonight.
As of 6:20 pm, rain has almost completely ended for locations west of the I-59 corridor, except for those along the corridor north and east of Birmingham.
AT 616 PM CST, DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED HEAVY RAIN DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING.

AT 552 PM CST, SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR HILLABEE CREEK TO NEAR CAMP HILL TO NEAR WAVERLY TO NEAR TYSONVILLE, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH.
AT 541 PM CST, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO WAS LOCATED OVER SOUTHERN LAKE MARTIN, OR 8 MILES SOUTHWEST OF DADEVILLE, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.
AT 541 PM CST, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO WAS LOCATED OVER WIND CREEK STATE PARK, OR NEAR ALEXANDER CITY, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.
AT 516 PM CST, SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM SPEED TO SANTUCK TO NEAR EMERALD MOUNTAIN TO NEAR DANNELLY FIELD, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 50 MPH.
AT 511 PM CST, A CONFIRMED TORNADO WAS LOCATED OVER WEOKA MILLS, OR 10 MILES SOUTHWEST OF EQUALITY, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.
NWS Birmingham has extended the TORNADO WATCH until 7 pm tonight for Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Coosa, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Russell, and Tallapoosa counties in Central Alabama. However, Chilton, Clay, Dallas, Jefferson, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, and Talladega counties have been removed from the watch as the severe weather threat has ended.
The TORNADO WATCH has been canceled for Bibb, Marengo, and Perry counties in Central Alabama, but continues until 6 pm for Autauga, Barbour, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Montgomery, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa counties.
