NWS Birmingham cancels Fayette, Lamar, and Walker counties from the Tornado Watch, but continues the watch for Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Etowah, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Pickens, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, and Tuscaloosa counties in Central Alabama until 10 pm.
At 850 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. 2 inches of rain is possible in a short period of time.
NWS Huntsville has removed Jackson and Marshall counties, but continues the watch for DeKalb County until 10 pm tonight.
Storms moving out of Tennessee and Alabama may continue to pose a damaging wind and brief tornado threat.
At 840 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Fort Payne to near Little River Canyon National Preserve, moving east at 55 mph.
At 832 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Moundville, or 17 miles south of Tuscaloosa, moving east at 45 mph.
At 826 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Altoona, or near Oneonta, moving east at 50 mph.
NWS Huntsville cancels the Tornado Watch for Cullman, Madison, and Morgan counties in North Alabama, and continues the watch for DeKalb, Jackson, and Marshall counties until 10 pm tonight.
At 818 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Powell, or near Rainsville, moving east at 55 mph.
At 816 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located over Arkadelphia, or 8 miles northeast of Sumiton, moving east at 45 mph.
NWS Birmingham along with the SPC has extended the Tornado Watch to now include Bibb, Calhoun, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, and Talladega counties to go along with Blount, Cherokee, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties until 10 pm tonight.
At 803 PM CST, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Strawberry to near Arkadelphia, moving east at 40 mph.
At 800 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Lynns Park, or near Dora, moving east at 45 mph.
