Rainfall is slowly diminishing, but serious flooding is ongoing across parts of Central Alabama.
The flash flood threat continues through the overnight hours for much of Central Alabama.
Claudette is expected to produce additional rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches with isolated maximum amounts of 8 inches across northern Alabama, northern Georgia, the Florida Panhandle, and South and North Carolina.
Very heavy rain is occurring over Northeast Alabama,w ith rainfall rates approaching 2 inches per hour.
3-5 inches has fallen across Marshall and DeKalb Counties.
Life-threatening flooding continues across Tuscaloosa and Greene Counties, including the Tuscaloosa/Northport areas.
A serious situation is occurring in the Tuscaloosa/Northport area when numerous roads are flooded or impassable. The Tuscaloosa County EMA asks that residents stay home and do not drive.

Much of the southern portions of Central Alabama have dried out from the torrential rains that fell during the morning and afternoon hours, while much of the activity continues along and north of the I-20 corridor.
