At 1:47 pm, the line of storms stretches from just north of Phenix City and Auburn to Montgomery and Hayneville, to Orrville and Dixons Mill. The stronger part of the line is currently over Northern Lowndes Co. and moving into the extreme southern parts of Marengo County. The Rest of the storms are staying well-behaved at the moment.
At 138 PM CDT, Heavy rain across the area from earlier today will keep area streams and creeks elevated. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
At 133 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Toxey, or 9 miles southwest of Butler, moving east at 40 mph.
At 112 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Myrtlewood, or near Linden, moving east at 45 mph.
At 106 PM CDT, gauge reports indicated 2 to 4 inches of rain fell earlier due to thunderstorms in southern Cullman County. Flooding is ongoing in the warned area.
At 1257 PM CDT, reporting gauges indicate elevated levels along the Chattooga River Above Weiss Lake. This will cause lowland flooding along the Chattooga River Above Weiss Lake.
At 1209 PM CDT, Moderate to heavy rain due to thunderstorms will be possible over the next couple of hours. Some ponding of water is expected and occurring on area roads. Use caution while driving.
NWS Huntsville has canceled the Flash Flood Watch for all counties in North Alabama: Colbert, Cullman, DeKalb, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan.
At 1135 AM CDT, emergency management had reported heavy rain had caused areas of flooding. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
At 1122 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Bluffport, or near Livingston, moving east at 45 mph.
NWS Birmingham has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 5:00 pm this evening for the following counties in Central Alabama: Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pike, Russell, Sumter, and Tallapoosa.
At 1102 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Porterville, or 10 miles northeast of Lauderdale, moving east at 35 mph.
Thunderstorms may become capable of producing mainly isolated damaging wind and hail this afternoon. A brief tornado also cannot be ruled out.
At 1056 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
