Members of Oak Mountain High School administration, faculty and staff will be at the school Friday and Saturday morning from 8 am to 12 pm collecting basic goods, water, toiletries, etc. for our students and their families, and members of the community affected by the tornado.
A new Tornado Watch has been issued until 1:00 am to replace the PDS Tornado Watch for the following counties in North Alabama: Colbert, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, and Morgan.
A new Tornado Watch has been issued to replace the old PDS Tornado Watch for the following counties in Central Alabama: Autauga, Bibb, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Hale, Jefferson, Marengo, Perry, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Elmore, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, and Montgomery.
At 733 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles southeast of Shelton State Community College to 6 miles east of Evansville, moving northeast at 75 mph.
At 716 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Knoxville to near Tishabee, moving northeast at 70 mph.
At 707 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Butler, moving northeast at 50 mph.
A new tornado watch will likely be issued by 7:30-7:45 pm CDT and effectively replace the ongoing PDS tornado watch set to expire at 8:00 pm CDT.
Conditions still remain favorable for further severe storm development with the potential for strong long-track tornadoes, damaging winds up to 80 MPH, and large hail up to golf ball size in diameter.
AT 603 PM CDT, A CONFIRMED LARGE AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR COLUMBIANA, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH.

Several counties have been added on the southern edge of the tornado watch.
Tornado between Ashville and Ragland, moving toward Southside, Glencoe, and Hokes Bluff.
At 515 PM CDT, a confirmed large and destructive tornado was observed near Centreville, moving east at 50 mph.
Folks near and northeast of Trussville including Argo…be in safe shelter now.
