More Counties Cleared from Watch
Counties are being cleared from the tornado watch. Your severe weather threat will end when the main line of storms passes your location.
Counties Beginning to be Cleared from Tornado Watch; Rain and Heavy Storms Accelerating Eastward
All warnings for Central and North Alabama have expired or been canceled. But the severe weather threat continues until the line of storms now over West Alabama pushes east of your location.
CANCELED Tornado Warning for Parts of Autauga, Chilton, and Elmore Counties until 915 pm
This tornado will pass near Verbena and Mountain Creek. It will eventually move into Coosa County passing near Rockford.
CANCELED Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Parts of Autauga County until 915 p.m.
Strong storm will pass south of Billingsley. It will cross US-82 shortly. Will move toward Deatsville.
CANCELED Tornado Warning for Parts of Greene, Pickens, and Sumter Counties til 9 pm
As noted, we are watching a circulation moving out of Mississippi. The circulation is tightening just northwest of Emelle. Folks around Gainesville, Geiger, and Union should be in safe shelter.
EXPIRED Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Parts of Fayette, Lamar, Marion until 8:45 p.m.
Strong storms are moving into Northwest Alabama at this hour.
CANCELED Tornado Warning for Autauga & Dallas Co. Until 8:15 pm
At 718 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Selma, moving northeast at 30 mph.
Tornado Watch Issued for Much of North Alabama Until Midnight
NWS Huntsville has issued a Tornado Watch for the following counties in North Alabama: Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Lawrence, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, Morgan. This watch is set to expire at midnight tonight.
A New PDS Tornado Watch Up for Central Alabama Until 3:00 am Thursday Morning
NWS Birmingham has issued a new PDS Tornado Watch for the following counties in Central Alabama: Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Chilton, Clay, Coosa, Dallas, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lamar, Marengo, Marion, Perry, Pickens, Shelby, Sumter, Talladega, Tuscaloosa, Walker, Winston. This new watch is set to expire at 3:00 am.
Tornado Warning for Dallas Co. Until 7:30 pm
At 648 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Old Cahaba Park, or 11 miles southwest of Selmont-West Selmont, moving northeast at 30 mph.
Flash Flood Warning for Walker & Winston Co. Until 9:00 pm
At 640 PM CDT, An area of continuous heavy rainfall will be ongoing across the warned area for the next hour or two. This area has already received several inches of rainfall throughout the day and this additional rainfall is expected to cause rapid runoff and overflow of area streams and creeks.
Strong Storms Will be Moving into Northwest Alabama Soon
Additional tornado watches will be required prior to the expiration of the current watches.
