July 1952 was one of the most frightening months in Alabama weather history with excessive heat, a crippling drought, extreme water shortage, and forest fires across the state.
The fire season is very dynamic and can change in a matter of a few days, says Auburn University’s John Kush. The Southeast is in a good position going into this season because of the amount of rain so far this year.
