Severe Threat Is Over For Today In North/Central Alabama

At 4:45 pm, the leading edge of the line of showers and thunderstorms is moving through the southeastern parts of the area, arriving or already arrived in Smiths Station, Midway, Hurtsboro, Troy, and Brundidge.
Local severe risk continues, particularly just east of WW 157.
AT 332 PM CDT, SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR WETUMPKA TO MONTGOMERY TO DAVENPORT, MOVING EAST AT 55 MPH.
HEAVIER STORMS SHIFTING INTO SOUTH ALABAMA: The line of storms over Northwest Alabama this morning just didn’t want to go away. In fact, the storms intensified as they moved eastward, producing scattered tree and power line damage in a number of counties. As of 3:00, the heavier storms have shifted down into the southern half of Alabama.
The Storm Prediction Center has reduced the Slight Risk locations to along and ahead of the line of strong to severe storms that continue to move across North/Central Alabama.
AT 250 PM CDT, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS LOCATED OVER WHITE HALL, OR NEAR MOSSES, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MPH.
A line of strong storms continues to push eastward across Alabama this afternoon. It is nearly out of the northern part of the state but continues across much of Central into South Alabama.
Trees are down in Cedar Bluff. The storms are now east of Cedar Bluff and Gaylesville.
Dangerous storms are approaching Heflin, Edwardsville, and Fruithurst at 2:13 p.m
The storms in Marengo County has now moved into parts of Perry County and is no longer severe.
Strong storms over Northeast Alabama continue to have the potential for damaging winds and even an isolated tornado.
AT 145 PM CDT, SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM NEAR SECTION TO NEAR SAND ROCK, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 45 MPH.
AT 145 PM CDT, A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR SECTION, OR 9 MILES WEST OF RAINSVILLE, MOVING NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.
