WARM NOVEMBER DAYS: Expect a high in the 78-82 degree range across Alabama today and tomorrow, about ten degrees above average for early November. We will forecast a mix of sun and clouds both days with just a few isolated showers around; chance of any one spot seeing rain is 20-25 percent.
RADAR CHECK: We have scattered showers and thunderstorms across much of Alabama this afternoon… otherwise we have more clouds than sun with temperatures mostly in the mid to upper 70s. We will maintain the chance of a few showers tonight with a mostly cloudy sky.
WARM, SHOWERY WEATHER: A stalled surface front is near the Mississippi River this morning, and moisture levels will continue to increase across Alabama today. We will mention a chance of scattered showers and possibly a thunderstorm through tonight.
RADAR CHECK: Scattered showers continue across Alabama this afternoon…. otherwise we have a mix of sun and clouds with temperatures in the 77-82 degree range. Dothan has reached 85 degrees and is the warmest spot in the state.
SHOWERS TODAY: We note some light rain and sprinkles across parts of Alabama early this morning as moisture levels begin to rise across the southern U.S. and a front approaches from the west.
THIS AFTERNOON: The sky is partly to mostly sunny across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures in the 77-82 degree range. The sky becomes mostly cloudy late tonight with a low in the 60s.
DRY, MILD MONDAY: With a partly sunny we are forecasting a high in the upper 70s for North Alabama today, with low 80s for the southern counties of the state. We note the average high for Birmingham on November 4 is 69.
Today, a ridge of high pressure will dominate, bringing clearing skies and warm temperatures. Don’t forget to set your clocks back tonight as we ‘fall back’ an hour! For football fans, it’s a beautiful day! Auburn, UAB, and Troy will enjoy sunny skies with temperatures reaching the low 80s by game time.
RADAR CHECK: Most of the showers have dissipated across Alabama this afternoon; the sky is mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 70s over the northern half of the state.
RADAR CHECK: We have scattered showers over much of Northeast, Central, West, and Southwest Alabama early this morning ahead of a stalled surface front just northwest of Alabama. We will maintain the chance of showers through the day, but rain amounts will be light
RADAR CHECK: A band of showers has moved into Northwest Alabama this afternoon ahead of a surface front… we also note a few showers over the southwest counties of the state as well. Showers are possible through tomorrow as the front stalls out and slowly dissipates; the most widespread and beneficial rail will be over the northwest quarter of the state.
RAIN GETTING CLOSER: Alabama is dry early this morning, but we are watching a band of rain and a few thunderstorms from near Dallas to St. Louis to Chicago ahead of a surface front.
RADAR CHECK: We have a few small, isolated showers over East Alabama this afternoon that are moving northward… the rest of the state is mostly cloudy but dry.
ISOLATED SHOWERS LATER TODAY? While most of Alabama will stay dry today with a high around 80 degrees, we will mention the risk of a few small, isolated showers this afternoon as moisture levels rise a bit.
