RADAR CHECK: A band of showers has moved into Northwest Alabama this afternoon ahead of a surface front… we also note a few showers over the southwest counties of the state as well. Showers are possible through tomorrow as the front stalls out and slowly dissipates; the most widespread and beneficial rail will be over the northwest quarter of the state.
RAIN GETTING CLOSER: Alabama is dry early this morning, but we are watching a band of rain and a few thunderstorms from near Dallas to St. Louis to Chicago ahead of a surface front.

ISOLATED SHOWERS LATER TODAY? While most of Alabama will stay dry today with a high around 80 degrees, we will mention the risk of a few small, isolated showers this afternoon as moisture levels rise a bit.

VERY WARM FALL DAY: Temperatures are in the mid 80s again across most of Alabama this afternoon with a good supply of sunshine. We note the average high for Birmingham on October 25 is 73. Tonight will be clear with a low in the 56-62 degree range.
STILL DRY, STILL WARM: Birmingham reached 86 degrees yesterday, which tied the record high for October 25, last set in 1927. Temperatures return to the mid 80s today and tomorrow with a good supply of sunshine both days.
VERY WARM OCTOBER DAY: Temperatures are in the mid 80s across much of Alabama this afternoon, very close to record levels for mid to late October. The sky is mostly sunny, and tonight will be fair with a low in the 55-60 degree range.
WARM AFTERNOONS: Highs will be in the mid 80s across much of Alabama today, tomorrow, and Saturday, about ten degrees above average for mid to late October. The air stays dry, so expect sunny days and fair nights.
