With sunshine in full supply, temperatures reach the upper 60s over North Alabama, with low to mid 70s to the south. Tonight will be cold again, and many communities across North/Central Alabama will see some frost again early tomorrow morning.
CLEAR, COOL FALL DAY: We have a cloudless sky across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures in the 60s. Tonight will be the coldest night so far this season with lows in the 30s for North Alabama; 40s the the southern counties.
Sunshine in fully supply today, and that will continue the rest of the week as we are forecasting sunny, very pleasant days, and clear, cold nights.
For its milestone 20th year, the Black Belt Community Foundation (BBCF) recognized Chris Womack, a native of Greenville in Alabama’s Black Belt, and the Southern Company CEO called it one of his top honors.
CRISP FALL DAY: Colder spots over North Alabama are in the 30s early this morning with a clear sky… otherwise we have temperatures in the 40s and 50s across the state at daybreak. Expect a sunny sky today with a high in the 60s for most places, some South Alabama communities will see low 70s.
If there was a cheerleading squad for all things North Alabama, Tami Reist would be the leader. In a way, she already is, in her capacity as president and CEO of the Alabama Mountain Lakes Tourism Association, which represents 16 counties in the northern half of the state and generates more than $4.3 billion in travel spending annually.
FINE FALL DAY: Temperatures are mostly in the 60s and 70s across Alabama this afternoon with a partly to mostly sunny sky. A secondary push of cool air arrives tonight with some clouds and a north breeze.
There are two areas marked by the NHC has having a chance for tropical development. Here is an update on these.
Today and the rest of the week, expect sunny, very pleasant days, and clear, cold nights. Highs are in the 70s today, but will drop into the 60s tomorrow and Thursday, but should return to the 70s Friday.
The Dr. David Satcher & St. Michael’s Medical Clinic and Learning Center in Anniston, Alabama, got a shot in the arm recently in the form of a $25,000 grant from the Alabama Power Foundation.
FALL FEEL: Temperatures are mostly in the 40s over North Alabama early this morning, but we do note that Gadsden and Fort Payne are reporting 39 degrees just before daybreak. We are seeing 50s over the southern half of the state, but Mobile remains the warmest spot with low 60s
