SUNNY, COOL APRIL DAY: The sky is mostly sunny across Alabama this afternoon with temperatures in the 50s and 60s. Tonight will be the coldest night of the week… a clear sky and light wind will allow for very good radiational cooling.
Airmen assigned to Maxwell Air Force Base recently participated in the Crusader Challenge, a five-day readiness exercise to build cohesiveness and teamwork and hone combat skills through various events and tasks.
Sunshine, blue sky, and refreshing temperatures are the forecast today and the next few days across Alabama. Highs this afternoon are in the 60s, tomorrow will feature highs in the upper 60s, while low 70s return Thursday.

The NWS has confirmed that several tornadoes touched down during this past weekends severe weather event.
RADAR CHECK: Light rain continues to fall across Alabama this afternoon east of a line from Fort Payne to Montgomery to Fairhope. The rest of the state is cloudy with temperatures mostly in the 50s. A few spots are in the mid to upper 40s; this is a 40 degree drop from the mid to upper 80s seen on Saturday.

A cold front continues to push south through the state today and is pushing the rain and storms out of the state. It is bringing much colder air into the state.

A few storms across southern and central Alabama could still pose a low-end threat for damaging winds or a brief tornado this evening, especially near old outflow boundaries.

The Mobile metro area has seen extreme rainfall, with 3.17 inches falling in just one hour, contributing to a life-threatening flash flood threat across southern Alabama and the western Florida Panhandle.
