Colder Air Rolling Into Alabama; Dry Through Tuesday
COLDER: A new surge of cold air is pushing into North Alabama this afternoon with clouds and a chilly north wind. Temperatures are falling through the 40s over the northern third of the state this afternoon, but with a sunny sky we are seeing mostly 50s across the southern counties.
Midday Nowcast: Sunny, Breezy and Turning Colder
We are seeing sunshine in full supply with highs in the low to mid 50s this afternoon. Our winds are increasing out of the northwest at 10-20 mph, and those winds are driving in a reinforcing shot of cold air.

Thick fog has developed across parts of NE Alabama. Visibilities are down to 1/4 of mile or less for places like Scottsboro, Arab and Rainsville. Watch for areas of black ice due to freezing fog.
