At 5:00 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.
A cold front is pushing southeastward across Northwest Alabama early this afternoon. Drier air will fill in behind it but more showers are possible this week.
Areal Flood Warning Expired For Parts Of Madison County
More rain and storms will overspread areas south of I-59 later today. A severe weather threat continues for the southern half of Alabama along with a flood threat across the southeastern half of the area.
Flood waters along Indian Creek in Madison have continued to fall since the creek crested earlier this morning at 8.
We remain showery today while the heaviest rain has moved a bit further east. It will be pretty warm for the middle of February with highs in Central Alabama in the middle and upper 60s. As the front settles through the area, Monday will be about 10 degrees cooler.
