The center of Hurricane Nate is expected to make its second landfall near Gulfport, Mississippi around midnight. Heavy rain, strong winds, and tornadoes will affect Central Alabama through the morning and afternoon.

At 9:05 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located near Ashby, or near Montevallo, moving north at 30 mph.
Severe weather has arrived earlier tonight in the warm, humid airmass ahead of Nate that is highly sheared. Severe weather will be with us tonight and tomorrow.
At 8:53 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Lawley, or 11 miles southwest of Jemison, moving northwest at 25 mph.
At 8:20 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Plecher, or 10 miles southwest of Clanton, moving north at 30 mph.
The potentially tornadic storm in Autauga County is very impressive with lots of lightning and rotation. It is moving toward Chilton County and a new tornado warning may be required.
At 7:39 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over Autaugaville, or 13 miles west of Prattville, moving north at 35 mph.
At 7:17 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located over White Hall, or 7 miles north of Mosses, moving northwest at 25 mph.
The potential for a few tornadoes will persist this evening across portions of southern Mississippi, southern Alabama and perhaps the Florida Panhandle as Hurricane Nate approaches.
Multiple rotations have been spotted on radar over parts of Baldwin county causing several tornado warning within the past 30 minutes.
The effects of Hurricane Nate are really starting to be felt along the Alabama coast with storm surge, strong winds and tornadoes.
At 6:17 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 9 miles southeast of Orange Beach, moving northwest at 45 mph.
Hurricane Nate is currently less than 120 miles away from making landfall on the coastline very close to the Gulfport and Biloxi areas in Mississippi.
