A strong feeder band associated with Tropical Storm Cindy is lifting northward across Alabama tonight. It should arrive in Birmingham around 1 a.m. or so.

Tropical Storm Cindy should move inland later tonight near the Texas/Louisiana border. An Air Force plane will be enroute shortly to investigate the storm.
An oil platform near the center of Tropical Storm Cindy measured a hurricane force wind gust at 5:55 p.m. with a pressure of 991 mb.
The center of Tropical Storm Cindy is now visible on the Lake Charles and Houston radars. It appears to have stalled temporarily to me, although the motion over the past few hours is still to the northwest. We don’t have any aircraft fixes on the center since Mission 04 has gone back to base.
Locations in this advisory have already received upwards of 2.00 inches in rainfall totals, and with another 1-2 inches expected, minor flooding could occur.
Possible waterspout has formed just offshore near Orange Beach, and will move onshore very shortly. Track will have it moving towards Foley, Robertsdale, and Summerdale. Moving northwest at 40 MPH.

Technicians have successfully repaired the NWS Radar located at Maxwell Air Force Base (KMXX). The radar is now operational and back in service.
